The Starter rework station is targeted for technicians who are located in the Americas and do not have or want a 220v line installed. It features a single 125 x 125mm bottom heater at a total of 1000 watts with a 60 x 60mm top heater rated at 250 watts. All heaters are from Elstein [Made in Germany] which provide top quality ceramic elements. The heaters feature a color change function, the color will become darker when they are on and return to the original color when off. This is mainly to help with troubleshooting the unit. This unit operates on 110-120v at about 11.3 amps. There are 2 PID controllers installed a PC410 which controls the top heater using a profile, and a Rex C100 controls the bottom heater using a set temperature, this is also referred to as the preheat zone.
Inside the unit are Fotek relays [Made in Taiwan] rated at 40 amps each. There are 2 exhaust fans located in the rear of the unit and another located near the controllers, this helps to keep the components from overheating. Underneath the heating elements is a thick sheet of thermal barrier insulation. Ceramic terminal blocks are used to connect the large heating element to the Fotek relay. The wires are installed in fiberglass insulation tubes to prevent damage to the insulation. The Starter rework station model features an 8 point support system, utilizing 4 top side supports and 2 bottom bars with a total of 4 stand offs. This helps to prevents flex in both directions.
